Here's some rescans I just did of the TMNT and Top Gun backgrounds, taken at ludicrous resolution: They look a bit crisper than the current ones, so perhaps they can be of use? Kind of funny how the scans will turn out way too dark just by rotating these thingies 90 degrees on the scanner tray.

Some reason I can't get any of the handheld games artwork to show up on the 0.193 betas. All but the nupogodi which is a clone of one of the Game & Watch games. But all will work on the stable 0.192 release.
Have anything to do with the colors overlay that aren't showing at all on the arcade games? For example invaders. Seem like those effected the handheld artworks. Very weird.
Unless I need to update the msys64-2017-02-05 tools to the newest.

Make sure that: - artwork path in mame.ini is correct - romsets are up to date (no warnings about mismatch checksum or size)
If you suspect it's due to your compile environment being outdated or wrong, new MAME is only 2 days away so you can check it again then.

I got it fix. I made a fresh mame.ini. There a old setting somewhere from the 0.192 and below that doesn't work on the 0.193. Must've been a change that I didn't know about.
I will reply each setting at a time to find that issue. If I can't find it then not something that I done.
Found it. Here what cause it.
# # OSD VIDEO OPTIONS # video bgfx
BGFX seem broken...
I set it to auto for now.
But I will re-download the source just in case it got mess up somehow from the updating.

I can confirm that overlays don't work in artwork when using -video bgfx. Please post it to Mametesters.
