I have system floppies for system 6.0.8 that work with the Mac emulation in MAME, but on the Mac LC III emulation, these boot to a screen that says that this OS is too old for the Mac. This is expected. I have a number of newer Mac system disks, but they are either in a format that MAME does not recognize, or they are bootable CDROMs. I have tried to get the CDROMs to boot on the Mac LC III emulation and failed. Does someone (please) have an install disk set for Mac System 7.1 or newer that boots on the Mac LC III emulation in MAME? Pretty please?

If you go to a ROM site with the "software list CHDs" set, it includes .CHD hard disk images with clean installs of 6.0.8, 7.0, 7.0.1, 7.1.1, 7.5, 7.5.3 rev 2, 7.5.5, 7.6, and 7.6.1. All of them are "universal" installs and should work on any machine that version supported in real life, and all of them have plenty of space available.

Speaking of Mac and CDs... ¿Is it possible to use CDs in any of the Mac drivers in MAME? I tried not so long ago and didn't get it to work... Of course, that could just be me being dumb...

CD-ROMs are not currently supported on the Mac drivers, no. If I'm ever able to change the Mac drivers over to a reasonable SCSI implementation that will be one of the first things fixed, but there are other problems to solve first (e.g. desynch comms between the 68k and 6805 means you can't change the PRAM contents on the LC III).

Ok, CDROMs don't work. I guess I'll stop banging my head on that now. Maybe someone should remove them from the slot device list or at least post a warning until they are fixed? Anyway, thanks.

I can't seem to find a link to these Mac chd files anywhere. I would think they would be easy to find since apple released most (if not all) of these OSs to the public, but I can't find them.

If you're on Pleasuredome they're in the "MAME Software List CHDs" torrent. Otherwise I'll post them on my blog page later.

Mac canned System Software installs. Create a folder called "mac_hdd" in your software path, unzip these into that folder, and you can then use the shortcut "mame64 maciici mac755". 6.0.87.0.07.0.17.1.17.5.07.5.37.5.57.6.07.6.1
