Something I just realized: there are two versions of Game & Watch "Fire":

The "silver series" version from 1980, model RC-04; this was (according to wikipedia) originally called "Fireman Fireman" in the US release?
The "wide screen" version from 1981, model FR-27

According to some background info from bonus content in the Gameboy game "Game & Watch Collection" (or one of its sequels, I forget exactly which of the 3 games has it), Fire has the distinction of being (the only?) Game & Watch game where the original design was a mirror image of the way it shipped, due to an LCD manufacturing error (unclear whether the fault of Nintendo or the LCD manufacturer) the LCD was supposedly produced as a mirror image of what it was supposed to look like. This was ostensibly worked around in the SM510 code by changing the lookup tables for the 7 segment digits so they appear 'backwards' but forwards to the viewer, and disabling any segments which would have words like "AM" "PM" "GAME A" "GAME B" "MISS" on them entirely, as they would appear reversed.

... and if you look at videos of the RC-04 model, even when you hit the ACL button, no word segments light at all, and there is a conspicuously blank area in the upper center of the LCD next to the clock. (I wonder if the contact at the edge of the LCD is just disconnected entirely for those segments?)

So this means the code from RC-04 and FR-27 (which DOES have word segments, MISS, AM/PM, GAME A, GAME B) must be different, as the workarounds for the mis-manufactured LCD must not be present in the widescreen model.

Nice job! Here are some vectored cases. I know that Oil Panic is not emulated yet but since I could find pictures of the case with good resolution I gave it a shot. Unfortunately, I could not find great pictures of the Green House unit, but I think it became useful until someone provide better pictures of it:

Since I have a Donkey Kong unit, I will take high resolution pictures of it to vectorize and will post the result here when it's done.

Has Tiger Marble Madness been dumped (or at least in the possession of someone that will dump it)? Found a spare... smile

Nope it's not dumped, I'd suggest sending a PM to seanriddle and find out if he has it =)

Sorry to say that, but these are not vectored cases at all. Opening up your files, just gave me a hell of a mess in Illustrator, with trillions of layers. I would rather like to have the original pictures, to do that job properly. What you have done here, is basically run the pictures through a app/plug-in with very poor results.

I already was suspicious by the posted picture and downloading that 24MB svg-file. Normally thats a huge amount of a data, like i.e. in a 2d-architecture print for a small company house.

Anyway, if you ask me, it would be so awesome, if something like that would be possible with the MAME artwork system:

these ones are even better, as the screen has a real height, if you look from the side at it:

And I could dust off my OBJ model loading code and make MAME display that, but I'm not paying the price of an actual LCD handheld per-model, fuck that.
