The G&W Pinball is progressing well and is hopefully finished soon. Remaining work includes verifying the reconstructed memory ROM against the actual game and searching for cheats. One interesting thing about the game is that it only seems to use 128 tones out of the 256 available tones in the melody ROM. The higher part of the ROM (128-255) seems to be a repetition of the lower part of the ROM.

Game & Watch: Pinball has now been dumped and added to MAME.

With this game completed, all G&W dual screen games are now preserved in MAME. Also, I believe that this is the first time that this game has been recreated, either by emulation or simulation.

This is a screenshot from the game:

Scans of the game case and LCD background inlays has been uploaded to the dropbox dir.

Thanks to JustDesserts for lending out the game!

I got Pinball a couple years ago added to my collection and it was actually kinda fun, but it's hard cause the display is a bit faded. will be cool to check out.

This is only tangentially related but, welp, looks like Tiger LCD games are coming back into style. Well, a little bit anyway, lol, they're rereleasing a few as a nostalgia trip.

The article mentions they're "inspired" by the original versions so who knows what the tech will be. I haven't heard about sean in awhile (and I can't actually remember what the last Tiger release was!) but I believe all the original versions of the four games are collected.

I don't get to post around here often so I also wanted to send my thanks for all the good work!

Me too. I am a bit concerned after his last message on the MAME forums. I started throwing something together last night just in case. This is what I have so far.

Yup, looking forward to hydef's artwork, but at the same time I don't like to put pressure on him.
@Darth: can you share your gnw_pinball artwork package?
