This Romtec Pucki & Monsters Pac-Man hasn't been dumped, has it? It might be the same as oval shaped game by Romtec/Goliath...

https://www.handheldmuseum.com/Romtec/PuckiMonstersTabletop.htm

CPU is HD38750-A67

Here's some more CPUs that we can add to the list in the driver:
Entex Super Space Invader 2 HD38800-A20
That's the top on here:
https://www.handheldmuseum.com/Entex/SSI2.htm
It seems the other design actually has the same chip in it as the Select-a-Game Space Invaders cartridge...

From my previous post:
Bandai Kiteyo Parman is HD38800-B42
Bandai Go Go Dynaman is HD38800-B48 (aka Kampf der Monster in Germany)
Bandai Toukon Jyouhmaru is HD38820-A75 (QFP package)

Epoch Star Force is an NEC D7528AC-020

Interesting, do both S.S invader 2 have the same graphics?
Can you make photos of the pcb(s) and vfd?

@Osso, it's in that databook too, it says the controller is HMCS40 so maybe it has an MCU inside.

I can dump the HD38750's.

The others should be easy, they are all HD388xx chips.

I can't dump the D7528 unfortunately, at least not yet. I have one in firefox F7.

Super Space Invaders has a different VFD with proper segments on it I think, going by a youtube video I saw. it's really interesting that the CPU is the same as the SAG. I can take a picture of the VFD and pin it out but I am not sure if that's required.

Entex Super Space Invader 2 HD38800-A31 VFD segments should be at the same positions (game would play glitchy otherwise), so a pinout won't be needed. Only an SVG. I think this is the game? An alternate title of it: Does not look like the same graphics as the 1st version.

That startup sequence is by holding the fire button while in Demo mode.

And it looks like it's on 'difficulty 1'
*edit* nevermind that: SAG Space Invader 2 manual says skill/game switch are unused.

I don't have the black SI2 (or the renamed one, which is the same, just named differently) anymore, but I have pictures of them both, and the VFD looks exactly the same.
And the VFDs are laid out just like the SAG VFD- each 'row' has a top red and a bottom blue something. Just dots on SAG, but alien ships or their bullets on SI2... Interesting how that either worked out perfectly for them, or they planned it out. SI2 is the pack-in game for SAG, so they probably designed it with that in mind from the start...

I do have the other SI2 (the square one with the A20 CPU), and it looks to have the same layout on the VFD, but the graphics are different:

The one I have doesn't work, but I'll send it to Kevtris anyway, hopefully the CPU can still be dumped and we can get it in MAME.
Another note on the CPU chip:
The A20 chip has 'INVA' next to the logo on the top, while the A31 chip has 'INV2'...
Will be curious to see what they changed...

HD38800 is an MCU. HD38880 is a Speech Synthesis chip (its used on SNK's Vanguard and Fantasy, and on GotYa).

LN: the data sheet hap posted says the 38880 contains an HMCS40 CPU core, which isn't surprising.

@Rik do you still have CGL Super Kong, or do you remember a glitch where the jump button wouldn't work right on the 1st level?

It used to lock up on MAME but I think I fixed that, instead it will cause a small glitch. Easiest way to test this is stand at the bottom-left corner (under the ladder) and keep jumping up. In MAME, you will sometimes appear on the 2nd floor after jumping. Happens once every 50 jumps or so.
