There's been a skeleton in MAME since around Christmas.

Hi,

I've dumped the system ROMs for the EACA Video Genie System EG3003, an almost-clone of the TRS-80 model 1. I have uploaded them to the Internet Archive here: https://archive.org/details/EACAVideoGenieEG3003. I noticed that this machine was on the MESS "Dumps Needed" page, so I thought I'd post here to let you know.

The dumps are three 4KB files, corresponding to the 9332B ROM chips labelled 3001, 3002, and 3003 on the CPU board.

These were dumped from the first version of the EG3003 (before the addition of the VU-meter and enhanced keyboard). I think the second version (with VU-meter and full keyboard, but before the addition of lower case characters as standard) had the same ROMs, but cannot personally confirm this.

The differences from the TRS-80 model 1 ROM seem to be exactly as described at https://www.classic-computers.org.nz/system-80/hardware_rom.htm. This would imply that the first version of the Dick Smith System 80 Mk. I had the same ROMs as the first version of the Video Genie EG3003 (which makes sense if Dick Smith Electronics was just rebadging the various Genie models for sale in Australia).

Thanks Rayner! That's not too surprising - most Dick Smith machines were rebadges of Asian clones from what I've been able to tell.
