Hi folks!

Before i make a new post about the Nintendo Computer Othello and the arcade version (also Universal), there is an arcade version of the console
(game play is the same for both console and arcade but with small differences) being actually selling on Yahoo Japan Auction:

https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/c888689275

Err...DOH!!! WAS being selling as the auction has stopped while taking my break. The seller hasn't sold it (good news!) and he was asking about $800 US
(80,000 Yens) and this is the first time i seen this arcade game this low as in 2 years i saw this game selling between 150,000 and 250,000 Yens but as the
whole cocktail cab. Pretty sure he will re-post it soon (and maybe less Yens ?).

So i will hold my post for my blog to see if anyone here will buy it for prosperity because pretty sure if i post the link on my blog, another collector will grab it..
I would have buy it but my financial situation as now isn't great.

Update: The seller has now re-posted his auction starting with a 78,000 Yens bid OR can buy it now at 100,000 Yens.

Since not many people has an Yahoo Japan Auction account, here's the Buyee link:

https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/c888689275

And just a quick historical note, this is the first Nintendo arcade game released which after, they released it as the Computer Othello game console
and both (console & arcade) are very rare to come by...so this needs to be preserved! wink

It's not that bad, for a single person yeah, but if someone wants to start a collective donation effort to buy it would be doable and I'd contribute to it. It's an important piece of gaming history after all.

If i could do this, i would have the biggest arcades/home consoles game collection! LOLLLL!!!!!!!!

But seriously, i know that it's not easy to have this kind of amount just to spend in the wild so that's why i posted if anyone
may have this amount to buy it and to archive it and then resell it.

But ssj idea is a great one, i would make a donation. If people make donations for projects that can get published or gone in the wind on
Kickstarter, why not do a collective donation like ssj suggest ? At least we know this will go for preserve arcade history in one way or the other.

Public announcements of money pooling for game acquisition is a sure-fire way for either deep pockets collectors to buy it to bury it, or to drive up its price.

Exactly this. When a super-rare arcade machine or game console comes up for auction, possibly the worst thing to do is to post about it on a public forum like here, MAMEWorld, or Reddit. The best thing to do is to reach out privately to one or more MAME developers who can point you in the right direction.
