I've been using a Logitech MX1000 for the last while, which works beautifully for me.

Wow, this is creepy. I was about to mention the exact same thing. I'm using that mouse right now and I love it.

I can't stand using a mouse anymore. I use the trackpad on my PowerBook and I have a Wacom tablet on my PowerMac. Both of them are way easier on my hands than a mouse ever was.

Me neither. Those stupid hockey puck mice ruined it for me. After years of using one my hand starts to cramp up if I even get near a mouse. Wacom tablets for me.

I hear you. Hm, Inkwell has all but fallen off the side of the map!

Interesting... but I'll wait for the 2nd version which will be improved, & wireless (presumably).

I use a Wacom tablet in all of my art apps (which is where I spend most of my time anyway) and a Kensington Orbit optical trackball the rest of the time. Not a big fan of mice anymore.

Ars Technica has posted a review of the new mouse.

Yeah, the Ars review clarifys a lot of things about it. I'm interested in how the "trackball" feels, but I'm not exactly running out to my Apple Store to find out either

Interesting move from Apple, but for my desktop I'll stick with my Kensington Expert Mouse (link) which I prefer over any mice I have touched the past years...

I have had a few other Kensington trackballs in the past (Orbit, Turbo Mouse 5, TurboBall) but this optical trackball has to be the best so far... No more greasy rollers...
