Hi all,

I know the PC emulations are not perfect yet, but it could also my fault, or I maybe there is a simple workaround. Has anyone managed to install Windows 3.1 or 3.11 on the ct486? I managed to create a bootable hard disk with MS-DOS 6.22 and then tried to install Windows, but it hangs at the third installation floppy disk when it tries to start lmouse.drv (according to the bootlog.txt). This is the same for 3.1 and 3.11.

(Btw, qemu gives me a GPF at that point, so no luck either with that one.)

Try switching from a Logitech mouse to a Microsoft mouse or Mouse Systems mouse on the serial port. We currently only emulate the “bootstrap mode” for the Logitech mouse, which is good enough for most DOS software. However, the Windows 3 driver tries to put it in a different mode that we don’t support, and gets upset when it refuses to cooperate. Fixing it is on my TODO list, but for now switching to a different mouse should be an adequate workaround.

Thanks, Vas, that did it. :-) I used the Microsoft Mouse and finished the installation.
