Unfortunately, nothing work (no display, I think that behind, it's working). I have 14 days lefts on holidays to find what's wrong, with a 9600 bps connexion to the net thru my mobile. I wonder the (not ready) PPC compiled version of SDLMAME suffers of the same problem. In other words, does SDLMAME for G4/G5 use Brad's code?

SDLMAME is a completely separate port, and in fact with the new renderer running it should be fully playable on PPC now. (If you can handle the command line, or a frontend materializes.) :pac:

It's kind of funny bxo posted here about MacMESS but I'll answer what I can.
The CVS server you speak of is only for MacMESS. MacMAME is on there but it is not meant to be built from that tree.
Last week I got a bunch of patches from Scott Michel to get MacMESS compiling. But they already might be broken with the u9 MAME patch.
With the aforementioned patches I was only able to get the debug version built.
