That's the word. Nobody serious here ?

I tried this afternoon to build a version from the CVS. After some time to configure a decent Xcode project, adding latest Mess and mame files, some works on sources, I obtained a ppc binary of MacMess 106. Unfortunately, nothing work (no display, I think that behind, it's working).

I have 14 days lefts on holidays to find what's wrong, with a 9600 bps connexion to the net thru my mobile.

Where are Mac dev ??

With tongue planted firmly in cheek...

I dunno about you but I'd fire the guy working on MacMame and refuse to pay him any more money... He is clearly taking advantage of you and that's something I'd never stand for.

The OSD interface has changed almost completely since the last time MacMAME was updated. That means that even without Intel in play getting it going again is essentially the same as porting it from scratch. So give Brad a break, eh?

I wonder the (not ready) PPC compiled version of SDLMAME suffers of the same problem. In other words, does SDLMAME for G4/G5 use Brad's code?

SDLMAME is a completely separate port, and in fact with the new renderer running it should be fully playable on PPC now. (If you can handle the command line, or a frontend materializes.) :pac:

It's kind of funny bxo posted here about MacMESS but I'll answer what I can.

The CVS server you speak of is only for MacMESS. MacMAME is on there but it is not meant to be built from that tree.

Last week I got a bunch of patches from Scott Michel to get MacMESS compiling. But they already might be broken with the u9 MAME patch.

With the aforementioned patches I was only able to get the debug version built.

Extremely cool, R. Belmont! The new font rendering looks nice, although I think the old dot-matrix style fits better the older games smile

Looking forward to a great new release of MacMESS, Tim.

Forget about Macmame, there is nothing in the CVS about it, and is not really my interest.
Starting from the CVS I found (Macmess CVS ???),I'm trying to build a running version of MacMess, from, I hope, the latest sources. I had some success, getting it working at some point.

At least it build.

So you are more successful than I, as I'm unable to build MacMESS compiled from CVS (just tried it).

As your questions are only pertaining to MacMESS, you should put further postings on the MESS forum here on Emuversal Bulletin Board.
