What happens if you use symlinks instead of aliases?

But to answer the above....
What was happening was a white screen taking up the space that the game should take (so, in the case of Mr. Do!, a white rectangle of the same dimensions as what the Mr. Do! playscreen would be otherwise) - This stays on the screen for about five minutes. After that, the screen goes black for about 30 seconds or so, then brings up either the "Press any key to continue" screen or the "Type OK to Continue" screen - however, it does not recognize keyboard input, so these screens don't go away.
Apple+Tabbing was possible, but when I did click & hold on the icon, it said "application not responding".
Also, it might be worth mentioning that I did delete "org.macmame.frontend.plist" from both Library/Preferences and lemon/Library/Preferences, but the problem didn't actually get better until I deleted that one folder from inside Applications/MacMAME.
Well, one things for sure - I'm not going to try sharing NVRAM/High Scores/Config files ever again.

!!!
And again.
Got MacMAME to work, played around with it for a couple hours or so, turned computer off.
Turned computer on. Fired up MacMAME, and it's back to that familiar white screen.

I don't think you would want to share Config -- perhaps this is the problem? Every user should have their own Config folder.

Right, yeah - here's what the documents folder looks like currently...
Artwork (alias) Cabinet Art (alias) Cabninet Marquees (alias) Categories Config Hard Disk Images (alias) High Scores Misc Support Files ROMs (alias) Screenshots (alias) Sound Samples (alias) Title Screenshots (alias)
Exactly as it was before. Difference being (and I just now thought of this), because I just posted a new Puzzli score, the High Scores folder had puzzli.hi.zip, and the categories file had BkWgroup.zip. So I guess when making zip files, I want to make sure they don't end up in the Config folder.
I deleted those, but that didn't work, but I think I might have figured out how to kickstart the machine now.
ĢDelete all instances of "org.macmame.macmame.plist" Ģ Run 87b (not 94u1 or 95u1) ĢPress "configure joysticks" in the Misc tab, and amuse yourself in there for a while. Ģ Run 94u1 or 95u1. Ģ Breathe sigh of relief.
This plan has now worked twice in a row.

Are you doing all these steps from the administrator account?

Yup. It wouldn't let me delete "org.macmame.macmame.plist" otherwise.
