Nice!

I've always wished for a Darwin LiveCD that boots into AdvanceMAME/AdvanceMENU on it, like they have for x86 architectures....

Sorry newbie question.

What exactly is AdvanceMame .83 for OS, is it a PC clone that runs in Mac or ?

Is this different from MacMame or an update for that system. There doesn't seem to be the same amount of updates that Mame PC gets, does this matter when using newer roms that have been configured for Mame .83

Thanks. :shiver:

AdvanceMAME for OS X (and xmame for OS X) are ports of AdvanceMAME and xmame respectively (two UNIX/Linux variants of MAME) to Mac OS X.

They are not as fast (because there are no assembly CPU cores), nor as easy to use as MacMAME. You have to use the terminal to use both of them as there is no graphical user interface (currently).

Would your builds work with the AdvanceMENU port in fink ? Having never actually used any of the Advance* I can't speak to it, so I figure it's worth asking :p .
