Tis' just a rumor, but it's a fairly popular one... and one that even ThinkSecret is behind this time. Could be the perfect "innards" for a MacMAME home arcade methinks.

Very cool! It won't be out for at least a few months, but I'm looking forward to it already.

It could indeed, but as long as you can buy a high speed PC for the same sort of money that'll still be better value for a MAME box.

OK, maybe so, but it'd be better than any other existing MacMAME option, eh? I'm a bit hesitant on this rumor... but it really does seem like the perfect time to introduce the long heralded, low-end Mac.

EDIT: Double post. I think I'll blame Safari.

It would be mine. Even at the rumored 1.25Ghz G4, it'd make a great living-room hooked-up-to-the-TV Mac just to offload watching videos off of my TiBook. And I'd finally have an always-on Mac to remote into. I still play more MAME on my "slow" TiBook than my fast Athlon, though. It's a convenience thing (and I rarely play the newer games...I'm more of a Dig Dug and Gorf kinda guy). Voch

This could be great for when I upgrade my Console Emulation Station, if it's as small as it says. Wonder if there's an AGP slot in it?

If it has a big disk then it would be perfect for keeping the homedirs on and easier to run backups from than our powerbook. Definitely interested to see what it is...

I can't imagine a new machine today would ship without one, even a low end. We'll see anyway.
