Does anyone know if there's a history.dat for Neo Geo ONLY available? The current History .dat is so big, that it takes 5 seconds just to find the info for the 4-5 games I'm playing right now. (on MacMAME's initial startup)

I found a Neo Geo Cheat.dat at MAMEWorld, so I thought there was the possibility for this as well.

Thanks,
Ryan

Irealize that Neo Geo is a hot topic these days.... Too bad rom beggers have soiled the reputation of such a well designed and successful (by sheer number of games) game engine/system.

Another hot topic: FIGHTING GAMES

It is my opinion that the Neo Geo's inventive, high quality, fighters have been the saving grace of arcade fighting games, elevating fighters to a respectable genre. The flashier fighters, (2D or 3D fighters with more gimmic and sloppier game play) seem to be MORE responsible for the demise of the Arcade. (if you buy into that "what caused the death of arcades" argument at all) At any rate, give a fighter like kizuna's Encounter (a sleeper hit IMHO) a fair try, compare it to other fighters of it's day, and formulate an opinion for yourself.

Lastly, IT'S OK TO LIKE NEO GEO!

Slanted View Point? Any thoughts?

Write a simple Obj-C program to parse out the NeoGeo games from the big DAT file. NSString and NSParser can deal with up to 2GB of text, and provide some funky features.

I like NeoGeo, too. I love the KoF series up to 2000, but after that it turned to rubbish. I had a lot of fun with Sengoku 3 in the arcade. I like Strikers 1945 Plus. My g/f and I play Puzzle Bobble. Yes, good things run on the NeoGeo.
