I noticed a bug, in that if you close the window, you can't get it back unless you quit and relaunch AO. If you close it and attempt to use the open command, it will unexpectedly quit.

Also, if you close it while playing the included "Tetris 2.ay", it will display a strange graphical glitch, then unexpectedly quit.

I especially like the ability to close that window, though. You couldn't do that in the old version of AO.

I am using an MDD PowerMac G4, Dual 1.25 GHz, 1280 MB RAM, if that should make any difference.

I have one additional comment that you may or may not like. When playing multi-track music, you can press right and left to switch tracks just like in the old AO. I really like this.

I think maybe it would be a good idea, and maybe it wouldn't be too hard to implement, if when you reached the last track of a file, and pressed right again, that it would continue onto the next file in the list. This would make it operate much like iTunes.

Actually, that's one minor quibble I have with the new AO: For Genesis and SNES music files, there are more steps involved to switching tracks. Whereas in 1.5.1 you just pressed right or left arrow keys, in 2.0 you have to press up or down and then Return. Or double click.

But hey, don't take this as a complaint. I'm just grateful that a new version is out and this is a VERY minor thing. And I don't really see how you could change that anyway, because the way it's set up now with expanding folders, it wouldn't easily be feasible. Or maybe it is, what do I know? wink

The window is not supposed to be closable; the rest of the program assumes the window is there, so if it isn't bad things happen. I've just changed things so the window can't be closed (if you want to get rid of it, Command-H).

As far as I know into programming for OS X, the most difficult is to not to make windows and all interface elements.

My major problem was to play sound in real time, that's quite difficult for me.

But I have to read the sample carefully :p

Except the little bug mentioned above, Audio Overload 2.0b1 works fine on my Power Mac G5 dual 1.8 Ghz (first version, the best) under french Mac OS 10.3.5.

There are a number of issues with Audio Overload 2.0b1 that will be corrected in 2.0b2 in the next few days.
