...and I think the problem has been in previous versions too. Basically if you enable vsync in Nestopia options, it screws up the speed of the emulator (games run as fast as my PC can run them). If I force vsync in the nvidia control panel, then vsync works in Nestopia. I'm not sure if the problem is due to having a dual core processor (it happens on my Athlon64 X2 3800+ and my Core 2 Duo systems).

Does "Sync to Refresh Rate" vs. "Auto Frame Skip" make any difference?

Nope, none of those settings have any effect. I played with every timing related setting in Nestopia. If I set the framerate to 59 in Nestopia, it almost works, but there is tearing and the game is not technically running at full speed. Setting vsync in the nvidia control panel is the only way to correct the problem. Not an issue on ati cards. I can get around the issue by creating a game profile around nestopia.exe in the control panel and enforcing vsync as the option, but I thought Marty should be aware of the issue.

I suspect you're using refresh rate overrides. See this thread for more info.

60Hz only. I use an LCD and I insist on perfect timing, so everything is 60Hz. The speed I'm talking about is not 25fps more than 60fps (which would correspond to 85Hz), but more like 1000fps. Nestopia will run the games as fast as the computer can display them.

Ok, so given you're absolutely sure these are your driver settings:

could you post of a capture of the logfile (enable in Preferences) after you've gone fullscreen and started a game?

I reported this a while ago but I guess me poor knowledge of english didn't get the message through

I fixed this by setting the maximum frames to 59

I'm not sure if this has been fixed on 1.34

well I didn't noticed that the topic started had noticed the 59 frames thing, I can confirm that this is/was an issue on ati cards as the 9800pro this computer has that showed the same behavior.
