Hi. I've successfully built SDLMAME under fc5. First observation is that enabling voodoo drc made the linker fail. My actual question is: where to put mamep4.ini (generated with mamep4 -createconfig) in order to be parsed? Specifying all the parameters in the command line is quite inconvenient.
Hopefully competition to xmame will cause improvement to both ports. Greets.
ETA: I noticed that the screen is not cleared: if a game swithces resolutions at runtime, or scanlines are enabled, pixels that aren't updated by new image contain the proeviously displayed data instead of being blank.

The ini path by default checks $HOME/.mame/ first, then ./, then ini/ (on the Mac, it omits the first one and just checks the current directory and ini/). The file can be called either {exename}.ini (eg mamep4.ini) or just mame.ini (the latter is handy so debug builds can share the same config). It also will check for {drivername}.ini and {romsetname}.ini just like MAME/W.

Oh, and Voodoo DRC doesn't work on any version AFAIK (not even original Windows MAME). Don't try to enable it or the new debugger :-)

There is no competition with xmame.
