I put a precompiled version of SDLMAME for Win32 on-line. Download it here .

The build is optimized for Core Duo processors. I don't know if it even runs on other Pentium class processors. If you need another version, just tell me.

Also, I have Lazarus now running on my IntelMac (it seems quite buggy, though). If you'd send me the source of one of your simulators, I'd gladly test if it compiles (and runs) on OS X.

The PM build is actually P3+SSE, so it should run on P4/AthlonXP class fine, although a generic I686 build is preferred for binary distribution to get the best compatibility.

I know you were talking about the win32 build, but can we IntelMac folks have to do anything to optimize for Core Duo processors beyond changing the subarch in the makefile? Just curious. smile

The "PM" optimization target in the makefile is about as good as it gets right now for Core series processors. It's actually using "-march=pentium3 -msse2" which is an approximation, but the more correct "-march=pentium-m" got identical results on a few Killer Instinct runs on my Intel Mini.

i tested the pm version compiled by carbon but... that doesn't work at all: it prompts a ram access violation error - but it might even be because of my pc's configuration or OS.

i'll be waiting for a "public" compiled version.

A standard 0.107 binary is available on my site . I'm currently compiling 107u1 and will upload that too when finished.

Well, as I said, I had no idea if it worked on a PC at all.

I only briefly tried it on my Core Duo Mac under virtualization software. It ran fine there. Next time, I'll try to compile a P4 binary.

Are you still interested in getting your simulators to work on Mac OS X?

Like I said, for distribution of Win32 binaries it's probably safest to compile as "I686" - that's what the binary releases of mainline use.

Incidentally, for Mac binaries, you can chop about 3 megs off safely with the "strip" command.

ETA: http://redump.emubase.de/ has a Win32 SDLMAME binary up as well. No idea which processor they picked, and apparenty it doesn't come with SDL.dll (that's mildly dangerous because 1.2.11 is the first version that works really well on Win32).

I have added the missing SDL.dll now to the archive on the site (version 1.2.11). The binary was built without any processor optimizations.
