My use of AdvanceMAME has been primarily the ability to set resolution choices for game, resolution and frequency, or just resolution, and being able to test resolutions on the fly.
I tried switching to sdlmame yesterday for grins and got some weird behavior. I tried to run using -resolution auto -frameskip auto (in case the cpu couldn't keep up) and -switchres, as seen below:
The results were...well weird. It chose the correct resolution, but see for yourself:
I tried using -centerh and -centerv, but they had no impact. See that vs what happens in advancemame with similar switches:
Any thoughts on what might cause this "rollover" effect in sdlmame?
