Since lots of SDL* folks are on Linux, I figured they might want to check this out. He's promising an OS X port once the Linux bugs are ironed out as well. You'll need a modern distro with hardware-accelerated OpenGL. /dev/cdrom works fine, and it uses ALSA audio exclusively.

Oh, bummer, it needs 32-bit gtkglext. Maybe I'll try to set up 32-bit extras repo later.

i was glad to see psx emulation picking up on linux again. long live the linux emulation scene!

Seconded!

I keep several boxes on a KVM. I have a XP machine that is mostly for games. But as Linux gets better and better I find myself moving more of my gaming over to my Ubuntu box. I recently moved my entire MAME setup to Linux. So between sdlMAME, DOSbox, and ZSNES I'm getting more and more of my emulation on Linux.

The MESS PSX drivers would be pretty good if someone hooked up the CD controller and fixed the root counters so the BIOS doesn't lock up :-) smf claims he's not going to do that until he rewrites all the PSX core stuff to work properly, and I expect that around the 10th of never, so if you're interested go at it :-)

As long as the fixes are correct, I don't see why he should be. MAME/MESS are team projects - people touch stuff they didn't write all the time. If someone magically made the Saturn work I'd put a line through that item on my todo list and have a few beers smile

Speaking of saturn, the saturnus driver in MESS uses a BIOS dump that's not available to MESSDEV so if you could share the wealth there that would be nice. (It's a different CRC from the US 1.00 dump that's floating around; is it a different revision or is one of them bad?)
