Shouldn't the Japanese (original) version be the parent set, instead of the current US version? Not that the parent/clone stuff is used as much in MESS.

nor such a criterion is followed in MAME either... usually MAME has the most recent version as parent (being most games from jpn, this of course means that western version is the parent), but there is no rule and exceptions are quite common...

Actually MAME's rule is that the most-recent non-country-specific English language version is the parent. So the ideal parent is a set that's got the latest version, is in English, and doesn't have the "GAME IS FOR USE ONLY IN [...] FULLEST EXTENT OF THE JAM" type messages.

Following that, in MESS the current "megadriv" set should be the parent, but since all regions are the same hardware and the same BIOS ROM (once that's supported) it feels kinda silly to even care smile

I am not in a place I can check right now, but the last time the driver got changed to "gen_blah", I had to update the sysinfo.dat entry so it would correctly link the text.

Can someone check the $info line and see if it needs a fix now that driver name changed?

Good catch, I just fixed it in SVN. The text could use some updating by someone more familiar with the current state of the code though.

Just wondering if Lemmings works properly because in HazeMD it has bad graphics.

Listed in the source as a known issue:

The code *is* HazeMD, so anything with problems there will have problems here. It's still a huge improvement over the previous MESS driver though smile

And pictures, too (while those clones are still choose-able from the list/tree).
