Here it is, SDLMAME 0.118u5.

For those who need it, manpages should now cover every option,
both from baseline and SDLMAME specific, including latest updates.

Grab and enjoy it!

cool

Are you Ubuntu guys having any problems with ppc builds? Fedora is having a problem with png2bdc conversion on ppc.

I can only build packages for i386 at present.

I'm looking for a cross-compiling environment,
but I still haven't found any.

Hi there Ubuntu MAME users. Perhaps one of you know what I'm doing wrong, trying to get mame to run some old vectrex roms. My troubles are written up here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=558167

Basically, I can get the bios to load, but not any of the cartridges.

Thanks for any advice.

From the commandline, this works:

./mess vectrex -cart whatever.zip

(yes, you can leave the cart images zipped).

Beyond that it's likely an issue with either kxmame or the Ubuntu packaging.

That's what I'm doing (although I'm executing xmess.SDL instead). Any idea what the problem might be? If there was any documentation that went with this stuff I'd have a fighting chance of figuring out where it's looking. As is, it's just a broken black box to me.

mame and mess could really use a "verbose" mode where they tell you where they're looking for which files, and how they got the idea to look in that place in the 1st place. It seems the main problem I'm having now is that mess can't find the vectrex bios. I've littered it in near every directory I think mess might look, but I have no idea what directory mess is really looking in.... sigh...
