Yeah I'm not quite sure how well that will work, I don't visit here often for instance.

I maybe could e-mail you or look for you on MAMEDEV or something. I would of course try to fix the simple things(like a file being renamve, removed or relocated). We'll just have to see what happens come 0.85 wink SMF, are you the one taking care of the dmame.zip on mame.net? So far, for the last 4 releases anyway, I have just used those files with the MAME/MESS source and have had success.

I put together dmame*s.zip on mame.net, I _usually_ keep the CVS copies up to date as well. Sometimes I get suprised by a MESS release that requires changes for compiling under DOS & thats where it gets tricky. At that point you have to use the mess*s.zip & the dmame*s.zip plus something else to make sure it contains the same drivers as the official release.

I guess that I'll have to try to keep up the CVS and make daily builds, that way if it quits compiling I can try to find out why with the least amount to changes.

Cool news Mad and smf.

DOS-users will benefit from this decision.

Thank you.

Usually the number of changes is low, it's the fact that it requires the changes that I sometimes miss :-)

In the meantime, XulChris, can you post Mad Hatchet's DMESS release?
Hi XulChris!

Would you mind posting the DOS-version at the official page?

and Mad,

did you find time to compile DMESS 0.85 ?

RetroLover

Well obviously not, as the DOS-version of 0.85 is missing, smf might be very busy with real life (his girl-friend) wink

Never mind.

MAME 0.85 for DOS is released, so maybe now XulChris could upload the MESS v0.85 DOS-build, if Mad Hatchet releases it?

Would you XulChris?
