Nice! This fix also has a nice side effect: some games display a message asking for the save/user disk and in some cases it was invisible before. With the correct palettes it's now shown:

This is from Necronomicon, but I'm sure there are more.

Anyone for a free eye test ...

The Henson CFA3000 is now able to start. On startup it checks for a number of connected devices, some of which are now emulated. There's a Keyboard in the Userport, an Option board (dipswitches) on the 1MHz Bus, and some twiddly knobs on the Analogue port. There's also an LED board which is not yet emulated, so the user doesn't yet have anything to respond to.

An eye tester? That's fantastic. We need to finish the emulation for 0.192 so people have something novel to complain about smile

Annoying video system, it has 8xn charset maps directly hooked in VRAM framebuffer and some logic vregs. I really would like to see a proper floppy image that runs on this one ...

Let's return to Saturn now.

Kale, I might take a stab at this driver and add a branded clone as I have found out that Ericsson Step/One is based on the JB-3000, like Mybrain is. I have also found a collection of floppies for Step/One conveniently preserved as IMD images so I'll put together a softlist too.

And the last terminal has been hooked up too. Here's a screenshot with all four running:

It was nagging me that some FM Towns games still had jerky scrolling after the latest changes... well, it actually was pretty easy to fix.

Following some hints posted with a YouTube video that someone asked about on MW, I've improved the Twinkle hardware SPU board emulation so that it now passes on all sets that have a good dump of the IDE HDD.

ETA: and smf has made them fully playable.

Good news, I found the test case I needed for "FM Towns software that uses CRTC registers 18 and 22 in hi-color mode": Psychic Detective Vol. 5. I'm going to do some more testing before I submit this, but ALL of the scrolling/positioning issues with the driver should finally be fixed:
