new rips for today:

Black Matrix Advanced (1999)(Flight Plan, NEC Interchannel)
Blue Stinger (1999)(Climax Graphics, Sega)
Konohana - True Report (2001)(Vridge, Success)
Milky Season (2002)(KID) [miniDSF repack by kingshriek]
Pia Carrot he Youkoso!! 2 (2001)(Cocktail Soft, Stack, NEC Interchannel)
Sister Princess Premium Edition (2002)(Stack, Media Works)

Black Matrix is about as weird as possible with VGM (sRPG with music that wouldn't feel out of place in Pulp Fiction? WTF?).

Blue Stinger would've been legendary if they could have fixed the camera. Cranking up those tunes now :-)

I'm not sure if Blue Stinger is complete. There are some gaps in the file numeration (no M01 or M08).

Those might be used in the movies though (there were a few SFD files, but with vocals mixed in, so I didn't include the audio tracks from those).
Or might be something with the GDI file extractor I'm using, dunno...

The goofy fake Christmas song is present and plays great (M04.dsf) and that's what I was most hoping to hear, so I call it a huge success ;-)

I was going to suggest you could probably at least title-tag Black/Matrix Advanced from the SSF and PSF2 Black/Matrix sets (which have title tags) but they call the same song different things. The Cypress Hill-sounding song that's in all the sets (BGM_004 in Advanced) is called "Zombie Spray" in the SSF set and "Beat the Jazz" in the PSF2, for instance.

4 new rips today:

by manakoAT:
Tetris 4D (1998)(Bullet Proof Software)

and three by me:

Dancing Blade Katteni Momotenshi! (1998)(Konami)
Fire Pro Wrestling D (2001)(Vaill, S-Neo, Spike)
Idol Janshi wo Tsukucchaou (1999)(Jaleco)

Word of a warning. The latter two games make extensive use of CD-DA (or rather GD-DA). I've included them (APS MP3 should be playable just about anywhere), which kinda makes the set largeish. For pure DSF packs, you'll have to wait for Modland to catch up with the latest ripping spree.

Fire Pro is as bad as it gets (700 kB of DSF files vs 120+ MB of MP3). But hey, at least you're getting the whole game soundtrack, not just 5 minutes worth of jingles. smile

I'm joining this thread late and appear to have missed some of these rips. Are the deleted ones around anywhere else?

Yes, all should be on Modland (sans the streamed tracks though). Modland Frontend might help if you're ftp impaired.

Or if you can wait a while, I plan to reupload all the sets when I manage to find some free time. The older sets were deleted since kingshriek released his DSF timer tool.

Also, there's this: DSF Torrent

In semi OT, I'm curious how on earth did people put up with the crap the DC scene did with CDI rips...
Resampling lossy music from 44kHz to 22/11kHz isn't even as bad as what they did with Soul Calibur (there were L and R files for each song, pretty obvious what each of them does). The rippers deleted all R files as dupes and resampled the L ones to 22kHz, making the game... Well, you get the picture.
Thank god for GDIs.

A lot of CD systems are still distributed as ISO + 128 kbit MP3, which isn't a whole lot better.

Incidentally, some of the Blue Stinger songs have real endings, after which there's a brief pause before they start over. The current time tags make them play completely through twice and then fade out when the third time starts, which sounds a little weird.

Well, kingshriek's timer parses the whole sequence data, so it's just set up originally this way.
You can just retime those using dsftime.py with one loop, not two and zero fade. smile
