I would like to first say that the MESS team is awsome.
Is there a UI mod for mess or mame that makes it look like a multi arcade system? and if there is what is the best one?

Did you give up on OSX or will there be an update for Mac users as well?

Mikiez: I'm not sure if your request for a "UI mod" means you're searching for a standalone front end, but there's also QMC2 as an alternative, if that's what you're looking for. QMC2 0.2.b7 (SVN) supports SDLMAME, and SDLMESS as well: http://www.mameworld.net/mamecat(you probably need to put "216.144.214.105 www.mameworld.net" in your /etc/hosts, because there's this DNS registration issue again/still) To checkout the SVN code base just do svn co https://qmc2.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/qmc2 qmc2 Sune: regarding OSX, I have no idea if QMC2 would work on this platform (I'd say it _should_)... anyway, I'm still searching for someone to try (or someone who let's me try remotely ).

I am a bit new to the mame/mess thing and I was going to make a arcade machine with an ol computer but I just wanted the screen too look like a multi-arcade not an app running on windows(like ultra-arcade in the arcade shops) doesnt matter if its mame, mess, or neither of the 2. It also has to play games not originally made for an arcade like nes etc.

I might give compiling it on OSX a go, but I expect it will require modifications before it works with the framework-style Qt and SDL libraries.

Great, thanks. I don't care what the purists have to say about the layout, it's the best front-end on the mac platform.
RB claims the forum is full of lurking Apple dev - you should ask here if you have trouble making a ub. Not sure what would be the proper sub-forum though..SDLMAME forum probably?

"Full" is definitely overstating it. The man who's named in the URL knows how to build Universal though :-)
