First of all, MAME OS X Rocks!

I loaded MAME OSX for the first time and I have to say it's great to see so many features built in. (I haven't MAME'd since the MacMAME days)

I noticed that the development of MAME OS X is on hiatus, so I though I'd compile my own.

Has anyone successfully updated the source code? I assume there is more to it than replacing the files and building an executable.

I searched the threads and the info out there is about SDLMAME.

Thanks in advance.

OK I should tell myself to RTFM...

There is a manual for compiling inside the source code directories.

The OSD APIs have changed several times since MAME OS X was last updated, so it's not something you can drop in and have work. You'll need to be at least intermediate level with C/C++ and have some knowledge of both the MAME core and the OS X APIs.

Or you can just run SDLMAME with a nice frontend and be playing Tekken Tag immediately wink

You are right, it doesn't work...and I am barely a python scripter.

I'll give SDLMAME a try.

Thanks.
