Aaron seems interested in tying things more tightly to Windows lately (not in the sinister Videoman way, in the "let's actually use the high-end graphics card everyone has now to assemble the 32 layers of a KonamiGX or System32 game" way). So e.g. the Windows version will start to require a decent D3D card, and Linux/Mac will need hardware accelerated OpenGL, and good luck to DOS/PSP/Xbox/whatever :-)

If it works out, artwork will no longer have a speed hit though, and moderate systems (e.g. 2 GHz) could see some games get a lot faster.

Now that it's in M1, I'm going to mention Matrimelee. It's one of the best game soundtracks I've heard. It's impressive enough on the NeoGeo, but really feels like it would be better suited to something like the NAOMI.

Also, if there is an OST for it (which there probably is), I must find a way to acquire it.

Aye, it's one of the better neogeo ost's, but the main reason for this is that its nothing to do with SNK and Playmore with their general suckiness... wink

There is a CD soundtrack available as well.

Yeah, I saw that Noise Factory did that. I'll be looking out for them in the future.

I've found a possible source for this. I may be even happier quite soon...

Edit: That certainly was a reliable source. I now have MP3s for the lot.

Yes... Mazinger Z is a game wich music i discovered in M1, just bought the PCB so now i have the music coming from it's original source for my personal satisfaction :-)
The music style is different somehow from whats used in most other arcadegames... maybe it is covers from the tv-serie?

Anyway great mix of PSG and FM... the level one music is my favourite.

What i hear is psg/fm balance good in M1 :-)

But the OKI6295 sound is muffled in Mame as i hear it. Usually it's the other way around it's the pcb that should be muffled... But this maybe should be mentioned at Mame forums and not here ;-)

I dont post much at Kohina anymore since i don't have any place to upload big files (servercrash).
