Super-funky update! Was semi-suprised to see "space opera" Arcade having digital sound, sounds so much better than the 32X's effort!
I only played the original once!
One thing I did notice: in the 32X version they credited the track "Asteroid Field" from the second "space opera" film, but it's not in the game (and the track called that under the hidden keyboard player in the 32X game is something else!). The "space opera" Arcade version too doesn't have the track, so I'm not sure where Sega Japan got their song names from!
p.s. am I the only person to run MAME and M1 together to imagine what it would sound like?!
p.p.s. I'm never so sure about the whole RIAA thing, as you're not doing anything regarding the soundtrack in particular, merely emulating some hardware. The fact that emulating that hardware allows people with (quite possible illegal) ROMs to then play that soundtrack back surely makes the end-user responsible in more ways than yourselves? I know this argument has been done to death by the way, just saying, that's all!
Anyway, M1 is very cool. Thank you very much!
