There is a difference of opinion between m1 & mame for the name & parentage of tenchi wo kurau. m1 has dynwarj as the parent of wofj, while mame has wof. wofj is the sequel to dynwarj, wof is the world version of the sequel.

I have noticed that at least m1 <gamename> -s1 or m1 gamename -s0 causes the player to start from song #0. To hear anything you have to press +. m1 -s1 gamename does not seem to work, player stops at 'Reading configuration from m1.ini'. And finally, the whole -s1 and -s0 switvh does not seem to have influence on the player, -s1 does not help bringing dmix to work. Maybe that's because the switch should be placed before the gamename?

Erm, what does the -s switch do?

I didnt even think that was an option, and if it is its undocumented which means it unsupported...

Yeah, it's a Linux-only switch. You're supposed to put all switches before the gamename, like "m1 -s1 tmnt". I should rewrite that to use getopt sometime though.

Super-funky update! Was semi-suprised to see "space opera" Arcade having digital sound, sounds so much better than the 32X's effort!

I only played the original once!

One thing I did notice: in the 32X version they credited the track "Asteroid Field" from the second "space opera" film, but it's not in the game (and the track called that under the hidden keyboard player in the 32X game is something else!). The "space opera" Arcade version too doesn't have the track, so I'm not sure where Sega Japan got their song names from!

p.s. am I the only person to run MAME and M1 together to imagine what it would sound like?!

p.p.s. I'm never so sure about the whole RIAA thing, as you're not doing anything regarding the soundtrack in particular, merely emulating some hardware. The fact that emulating that hardware allows people with (quite possible illegal) ROMs to then play that soundtrack back surely makes the end-user responsible in more ways than yourselves? I know this argument has been done to death by the way, just saying, that's all!

Anyway, M1 is very cool. Thank you very much!
