Kale: they're centered in bsnes? Because in actual photography you're supposed to put the subject off center like that, not that pre-PS2 programmers tended to know that Yes, centered. Dunno if I should trust the other emus about it...

Well, in general if bsnes does something it's probably right

bsnes has heavy sprite flickering bugs in random places, it's probably one of the few games that it's better (!) in our MESS driver.

Actually the real SNES has heavy sprite flicker in a lot of games (Gradius III was worst, but nowhere near the only one). AFAIK his sprite flicker is correct. (Sega got this right: the lowest-priority sprite drops out first on the Genesis. On the SNES the highest-priority drops first so it's more likely to look really bad).

Oh well, we need a mess vs. bsnes snap comparison before continuing talking all the day about it ;P (imho it could flicker, but not that much) MESS has another bug...during bonus games (after that you win a match), you cannot see the sprite that controls the selections that you do, yay...

r5416 /src/mame/ (machine/snes.c video/snes.c): [SNES]: Fixed 8bpp layer colors. (Unrelated note: Always wondered if the latter says "Chief!" on the title screen or what... ^^U)

Wow, I thought it was correct more recently than that. LMK if it is 1479 that did it. Yep confirmed. super mario kart gameplay broke in 1479. 1478 is fine (except graphics of course, which are now fixed in current svn). should I file a bug since this was a regression and not related to the current snes party going on now?

Super Chase HQ: background color appears fixed now.
Bishoujo Wrester Retsuden is fixed.
Strike Gunner: I can confirm. The shadow of the first boss comes out as a series of corrupted forest tiles, rather than a shadow. Possibly OPT?
Top Gear 2: New bug - bridges are solid yellow, should be yellow and black. Snes9x had the reverse problem (any line that had black in it was all black). Possibly same cause? (H-IRQ)
