Hey, just out of curiosity, has anyone ever looked into why the cursor in Tetris Attack / Panel de Pon slowly drifts upward by itself? It renders the game unplayable and it bums me out that one of my favorite SNES games is one of the few not running great in MESS.

Confirmed.

You can temporarily nudge the cursor back in line with the bricks by pressing Z or X.

Not only is it highly playable and fun, Tetris Attack also has a great soundtrack. Whoever did the music on this game was definitely a bass player..the bass even takes the lead in some of the songs.

Missing offset-per-tile emulation in the snes ppu is why tetris attack doesn't work quite right. Or that's what I heard, IIRC.

Yeah, could be the same reason why Puzzle Bobble is pretty hosed, too.

fwiw, once I get stuck with SMS VDP and RealLife leaves me some spare time, I plan to try again to add missing SNES video features.

don't hold your breath though, it could take some time...

The 'pixel aspect' video option is no longer working in this driver. And the 'switchres' option has weird results, it stretches the screen horizontally too much, cropping the image on both sides. I think these issues have started after the recent massive updates. Please verify.

Those are correct behavior. There is no other way to properly emulate the SNES video hardware, so stick with -noswitchres.

Ok... It seems to be my CRT monitor that doesn't support the needed SNES resolution. With LCD monitors it looks great!

it supports the correct loading (MESS works like bsnes for loading). but the game probably fails due to other emulation problems. what title are you trying to play?
