Just a heads up, but for some reason the cflag -Wdeclaration-after-statement isn't recognized on debian 3.1. It must be a debian bug.

I had the same exiting errors as corvus, but it seems belmont's already figured out why, so no biggie. As I've only got asteroids to test vector games with at the moment, I can't confirm this for all vector games, but the startup screen doesn't clear before the game starts.

Thanks for all the work guys. It's pretty damn cool stuff.

What's your gcc --version on 3.1?

Also that's confirmed - vector games don't erase the info screen. Weird :-)

Try Tekken3 (switches resolution at runtime) or enable scanlines in it. In both cases screen stays in the background (in the second one till interlaced mode starts).

gcc (GCC) 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-13)

According to gcc the flag should be supported by any 3.x release. I don't know why it's not there on debian, but I've confirmed it on a bunch of our servers, so it's not my config.

Debian 3.1 also ships with gcc 3.4. I'll test it tonight. I've also got kubuntu installed, so I might as well try that as well. It ships with 3.3, 3.4, and 4.

Update: It works fine on debian 3.1. using gcc 3.4.
