I was playing around with the newest NotSo Fatso. This new version allows you to invert individual sound channels to create a pseudo-surround effect. If you set the output to stereo and keep all the channels set to the center and invert the channels you can actually hear it on the left and right sides at once instead of just in the center like normal mono. You could probably add it to M1.

He probably could, but what's the point in modifying each individual sound core to be emulated inaccurately? Think, McFly, Think!

Frontends are the proper place to add this stuff, not the M1 core. "Do one thing and do it well".
