Adding -m32 to those two options mentioned above allowed me to compile 0.154 successfully on my C2Duo iMac, but on both my Macs (the other one being a Core i7 iMac), ldplayer can't get compiled:
Code
Compiling obj/sdl/ldplayer/ldplayer/drivlist.c...
Compiling src/emu/drivers/emudummy.c...
Archiving obj/sdl/ldplayer/ldplayer/libbus.a...
ar: no archive members specified
usage: ar -d [-TLsv] archive file ...
ar -m [-TLsv] archive file ...
ar -m [-abiTLsv] position archive file ...
ar -p [-TLsv] archive [file ...]
ar -q [-cTLsv] archive file ...
ar -r [-cuTLsv] archive file ...
ar -r [-abciuTLsv] position archive file ...
ar -t [-TLsv] archive [file ...]
ar -x [-ouTLsv] archive [file ...]
make: *** [obj/sdl/ldplayer/ldplayer/libbus.a] Error 1

All the other tools compile fine.

Mono: If your Mac has a 7 series Geforce card then you're in 32-bit kernel and drivers mode, there are no 64-bit drivers for 7 series cards, I'm guessing because they were never sold in Macs with 64-bit firmware.

You'll need a Geforce 8 series card or higher. Of course even with one of those, you'll still have to use a Hackintosh boot loader if you want to run Mountain Lion or Mavericks on a 32-bit firmware Mac. If you like, I can refer you to some friendly people who are doing just that, feel free to send me a PM.

Either way you can still compile and run 64-bit MAME.

Sorry for the late response haha.
That makes sense! Im still stuck with my 7300 here.

One of these days Ill grab one of those 8800's but no clue when Ill be able to afford it, those Apple ones are still stupid expensive.. Times is tough so were staying in 32-bit land for awhile. laugh

I have flashed PC cards in the past, but the last one, my FX5500 I was using in my old G4, lost some sort of heat sensor capability because of a kext you had to delete to make it work and it ultimately died a couple years later when it blew a cap on the board.. Im gonna guess it 'overheated' and popped so I never bothered with it again. Im pretty out of touch with that whole 'scene' now too, I should go look and see if theres anything newer I can go grab cheap at Newegg and flash.. I cant remember what but I know recently there was a game I wanted to get from the Apple Store and the graphics card was the one thing my system didnt have to run it.. Might have needed Mavericks/Mountain Lion too but if I had the card Id probably already be on Mavericks so I could upgrade to Logic Pro X finally..

At least MAME still works! Dont know what I would do without my emulators of all things haha!

MAME/MESS 0.155 compile and run fine on Slackware Linux 14.1.

MAME/MESS packages for Slackware Linux users are here:

But that's the thing. When you use a Hackintosh boot loader, you don't need a Mac-specific video card because you'll be bypassing the whole EFI ROM thing anyway. Which is exactly the point, because that's what will enable you to boot in 64-bit kernel and drivers mode.

Of course this way you'll lose all "physical" EFI functionality such as Target Disk Mode and some other stuff I guess. So keep your old video card around. Anyway this is not really the place to talk about this, send me a PM if you want to take the red pill.
