What I currently know:
r7217 broke both x68k and cpc floppies. Both work in r7216, but neither do in r7217. However, cpc floppies do seem to work in r7444. Will have to trace where cpc floppies started working again...

Update: issue seems to be related to the Track 0 signal, used by the upd765 code to check if a recalibrate function is successful. The failure occurs on the second recalibrate function, so it works the first time, but not the second, even though both the FDC and drive say the current track is 0.

Changing line 309 of machine/upd765.c to:
Code:
			if (fdc->pcn[fdc->drive] != 0)

fixes the x68k, however, I think the real issue is more with flopdrv.c somewhere.

Make now a clean compile again.

cpc floppy disk support is ok.

Quote:
if (fdc->pcn[fdc->drive] != 0)

This fix the x68000 floppy disk problem to boot.
Thanks Barry. smile

Memory size is also a bit strange should be 14265 in screen 1 (and 8121 in screen 2).

The bad chars are in lowercase. and is also somewhere in rom (probable address sent to curt by PM).

SVN r7515

It seems, MESSUI is working now. smile
Very strange, because the fix was for the src/mess/drivers ...

An internal driver consistency check was triggered because of 2 errors in drivers.
