that's quite a nice looking version of Populous, although those aren't valid building structures ;-p

Nice to see more stuff at least doing something.

Mouse control is what I'm currently looking at. Hopefully that'll be working soon. smile

On a related note, I don't think I can improve the driver much further without proper waitstate support in the core. That's mnemodemo 1, part 2 in MESS (with some wip changes):

And heres the demo in SimCoupe:

The big yellow letters are mid-screen palette changes, the bottom border is also changed mid-screen to create those pillars.

Isn't it possible for a driver to make a given CPU eat a given number of cycles? It's sub-optimal, but I suppose you could make sure that the entire address map range has handlers attached to it, and the handlers deduct the appropriate number of cycles.

Thanks for the preliminary mouse support (SVN r7618), very useful. smile

Now that I finally got around to grabbing a version of TownsOS 2.1, it's very nice to see that it is actually somewhat usuable. As in, it will actually run applications (even if TownsPAINT uses some funky video settings). Well, that's one protected mode OS that is running in MESS. smile
