Ah well... it doesn't crash, but it desn't seem to work as expected either.

-listsoftware lists the gamepock and bbcbc, but no actual software

-listsoftware gamepock lists the gamepock software, very nice

-listsoftware bbcbc doesn't list any software.

actually, I took the crashing build (rev.7711), I removed all obj/ except for emu/cpu and emu/sound, recompiled the rest of the source and the command started to work without any crash...

I start to suspect that the crash was due (in my case) to a mix of rev.7702 and 7703 obj... that would explain why both on my mac and the symbol builds were not crashing: they had been clean compiled!

hence, I'm trying to rebuild from scratch rev.7711 and see if it fixes the problems. I will let you know the result

in any case, the additional checks cannot harm wink

Found that the 2nd mess.ini had a wrong path for hash files.

Once that was fixed, everything works EXCEPT if i specify

-listsoftware bbcbc

bbcbc* works, b* works as well... but not the exact term.
However gamepock works... very strange.

Just have a question to the current SVN builds:
If I press the " Enter/Return " key on keyboard during any emulation the MESS/MESSUI exit.

Something wrong with my builds/settings ?

Ok, I see.
Bobz build seems to be ok, so it is a problem of my builds.
Will make the next clean compile to test again.

yes, you need a clean compile. it's due to the addition of IPT_KEYPAD which has changed the list of inputs, requiring a compile from scratch

Is in progress ...

Thanks smile

I have the next question:

Is it possible to add a short note to the svn title (of course only for commits where a clean compile is really neccessary) ?
Example:

from

r7751 Wednesday 7th April, 2010 at 13:40:30 UTC by Curt Coder
[ETI660] Use IPT_KEYPAD.
[src/mess/drivers] eti660.c

to

r7751 Wednesday 7th April, 2010 at 13:40:30 UTC by Curt Coder
[ETI660] Use IPT_KEYPAD (*).
[src/mess/drivers] eti660.c

(*) = a clean compile is strongly recommended

sometimes, we don't know exactly when it's needed... e.g. in the IPT_KEYPAD case, the problem was in rev. 7718, but I found out that a clean compile was needed only after a few days (because the drivers I was working on were fine)
