Would be nice if those icons could be made to work, just like the shortcuts in the Windows Start menu.

Hello Barry,

do you plan to support Harddisk images for the fmtowns driver ?
The last 2 days, I spend the time to understand, how I can create Harddisk images and Partitions + install different OS like TownsOS and Win95 (special version for FMT) on the UNZ emulator. smile

At moment, I install Towns OS 2.1 L51 from CD to Harddisk.

Need some time ...

None of the menu items in either newui or MAME/MESSUI are using bitmaps. It's code, that either never worked or hasn't worked for years. It's something that is just for eye candy reasons and it's nothing that should really belong to the official. I also tried getting it to work and it wasn't that easy and required new, maybe even totally different images to get it to work. Like the input customization artwork you are welcome to make it work, but I think there is no reason to have this at all (it's also platform-dependent) and bugzilla is still full of more serious issues people should take a look at.

Since you should know I already outlawed MESSUI and newui, but I am doing this right now as a learning experience with UI code and the MAME stuff involved and I am also trying to clean thing up, so they are more readable and manageable.

Eventually, I'll look at adding the SCSI HD controller, but at this point, I don't have much info on it, and I'd rather try to get more games working.

I already have a simple HD setup in UNZ with TownsOS installed and bootable, with High C also installed (for some testing ;))

Unfortunately, UNZ is not a open source project. Maybe Kasanova can help us with some infos. His English language skills are not so bad.

Remember, CD-i Fanīs emulator is also not open source but he was willing to help us.

I did try to e-mail him once, but got no response. I could try the forum, though. I could use some sort of documentation of the CD-ROM controller commands (unless someone actually has a dump of the CD-ROM controller HD64180 code) also.

No idea at all really. Maybe Guru knows.
EDIT: Or not, I guess the Marty probably doesn't have a SCSI controller. smile

Now who wants to dump each of the numerous FM Towns models... smile

I did find one suggestion that the SCSI controller is possibly an MB89352A, but there is nothing clear on it. There's a lot of mis-information about the FM Towns on the internet, and it could well be some custom job too.

According to some Linux/Towns code, the SCSI controller resides at I/O port 0xc30 (data) and 0xc32 (status/control). Maybe it won't be too complex to implement...

EDIT: Does not appear to be an MB89352, pinout is very different compared to the MB89352 datasheet, and registers don't seem to be even close.
