Today's change - removal of support for the dodgy version of Brutal Sports Football.

For reasons unknown, there are 2 versions of this floating around the net - CRC 0FDCEB66 and BCB1A4BF. The correct one is BCB1A4BF (as per the software list).

0FDCEB66 has a strange (and unique) 512-byte header, the remainder being the same as the correct cart, supported in r7989 to r8041. Since both versions are easily available, I have removed support for the dodgy 0FDCEB66 version.

Thanks robbbert. smile
I just removed (hex-editor: 0x00-0x01F0, CRC32: 0FDCEB66, Size: 2.097.664 bytes) the header and have now the new working version (CRC32:BCB1A4BF, Size:2.097.152 bytes)

Another WIP:

Basically, there's wrong data in the DSP stack RAM, so it jumps to invalid program code ... and that even happens several times during the POST, hence this game currently boots for lucky reasons ... dunno what writes here yet ... as usual with the Jag, the debugger doesn't return any write if I do a simple watchpoint ...

Other than that, logic seems busted too ... I can't "score" an hit for whatever reason, which is really odd ...

I think that I've got it:

Code is:

f1b250 jump (r3)
f1b252 nop

A branch delay slot ... at f1b250, DSP takes an irq (jumps at f1b000), so it currently puts f1b24e on the stack ... I think that an IRQ should put the jump vector instead ... is this a correct thought?

Mess SVN r8081 Jaguar you can no longer choose a cart from the picker window with messui it loads cart in quickload slot instead of cart slot and causes mess to crash or just black screen. the only way to load carts now is to start emulation with out a cart and go to device and mount cart in cart slot. Is this a known problem or is it just me doing something wrong? Ok found that it is images with .jag .rom extension that are the problem .j64 load fine so it must be quickload is not working maybe?

Rename any JAG carts to J64, as JAG is now a quickload filetype, and will be removed as a cart. ROM should work in the cart slot, I'll have to check that out. Make sure your ROM files correspond to the required format, as there are many that are mislabelled.

Last night the JAG extension for carts was removed, as it was causing a conflict in MESSUI. You need to change all your carts to J64.

Also, a real jaguar will play the logo before launching a cart (it's quite annoying). For completeness of emulation, that facility is now available via a configuration switch.
