since rev. 8570 I cannot anymore load any software, neither through usual command line nor through softlists. things work in rev. 8568.

Micko, could you take a look?

r8585: [WD17XX] Changed to update the data register via a timer instead of everytime the data register has been read. This allows us to properly detect data lost conditions and improves overall timing. Needed for smc777 to start booting. Driver authors: Please test for regressions.

I love when it happens ... thanks to Micko and Duke, now we have the following games working for Sharp X1:

Hydlide:

Hydlide 2 (can't get it to surpass the user disk check?)

And, something that you might check, the original Final Zone

(something else might be fixed too, dunno right now smile )

Regression for TI FDC (99_dsk.c). I did not notice it since I usually do not use that controller, but that should be fixed nevertheless. I'll try to locate the problem.

SVN r8714
pc6001 driver

Kale, MESSUI show me 2x Cartslots as devices. I think the second device should be called " Cassette ".

Toshiba Pasopia7

Lost Queen (tape images)
It seems, the game is working on Takeda´s emulator.
You need to start as first the debug version (LQDBG.cas) instead of the normal version (LQ.cas).

Mount LQDBG.cas
CLOAD
Mount LQMC.cas
RUN

Tower of Wizard (tape images)

Mount TOW.cas
CLOAD
Mount TOWMAC.cas
RUN

But it is better to use the debug version too.

as long as it is coded as a cart slot, its name cannot be changed.

also, I start wondering if the .p6 and .cas are really representation of the content of the cassettes or if they only are memory snapshots of the loaded program (like .t64 files for the C64). if they latter, they are not cassette images at all and it would mean no real tape could be re-created starting from them...

I hope to obtain a pc6001 wav file, eventually

Morikawa made a tool called " P6DatRec ".
You can convert .wav > .P6 or .P6 > .wav
