Correct, and such a request for the emulators won't be possible at all: it's definitely not forbidden to write an emulator for whatever program/system you want, as long as you don't use any original code.

And so removing the Vancouver emulation from the Mess-SVN a few days ago is absolutely incomprehensible for me!

While they're not legally obligated to do so, MAME has removed drivers at the request of the rights holders before.

Entirely as a gesture of good-will tho, the dev team prefers to stay on the side of active arcade developers, not work against them. In this case it's a system from 1984, which to my knowledge hasn't been sold for many years in a field where the technology has advanced significantly since it was released in the first place.

I don't think MAMEdev would feel obliged to remove such a driver.

Curt removed some, so this error should be fixed.
I have still a problem if I try to compile the tools.

SVN r9420

C:\Emulator\Mess\SVN\Bin\mess>make TARGET=mess
make: Nothing to be done for `default'.

C:\Emulator\Mess\SVN\Bin\mess>make TARGET=mess tools
Quote
Linking unidasm.exe...
obj/windows/mess/tools/unidasm.o:unidasm.c:(.rdata+0x50c): undefined reference
to `cpu_disassemble_cdp1802(legacy_cpu_device*, char*, unsigned int, unsigned
char const*, unsigned char const*, int)'collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [unidasm.exe] Error 1

Can someone confirm the error ?

Yeah, that error was already fixed on the MAME side, someone will probably bring it over momentarily.

new mycom driver

Hello Robbbert,

I have 3 questions to the new driver:

1.) You plan to add more assignable characters for the emulated keyboard (the natural kb seems not to work), so I am able to type a Basic listing ?

2.) Do you know the command/parameter (save/.s/twrite/.tw) for the Basic mode to save the Basic code into .wav file ?
Not sure, it is supported now or not.

3.) Do you plan to support the Copy/Paste function so I can insert a Basic listing ?

Thanks in advance. smile

2. According to the manual the save/load only exists in the bios 0 monitor, and not in Basic. At least not that I can see. I do not know how to save/load Basic programs. The Basic is only a single 4k rom which means it has very few features.

1 & 3, don't know yet. The keyboard has various issues, might have to rewrite it.
