Is this meant as trolling just because judge 'disagreed' with me? because it's about Outrun2006 level.

the fact remains, having the CPU code running properly is more important than the video implementation, and there is a _lot_ more to PCFX than having the PCE code. Most of the games are FMV based games which will a least require the MJPEG stuff, and all the games will require CPU improvements, I don't even believe it supports proper interrupts yet, nor is capable of running any Virtual Boy stuff. The existing core was written for some Shogi games in MAME, which just use it as a simple AI processor.

If judge is good at improving the core, good, his skills will be needed, however your comment seems pointless.

Nope it had nothing to do with anything, I had been away for quite a while and this is the first post by judge I see have since for months/possibly years?. And since I love judge, I just quoted his post and posted a love emot. That's all there is to it.

Sorry if you took it personally, don't let your ego nitpick every post, even the most innocent one.

BTW still waiting your PM so I can explain you some interesting stuffs about the complex SNES scene(s).

If you find it useless, fine, then just ignore it. It was addressed to judge.

War? I'm just wondering why you're posting completely pointless stuff which reads almost as a troll as a result, especially given your other recent mamedev / messdev bashing regarding ability to dump / identify good roms.

I could understand comments being made if something had actually been submitted, but nothing has, and the post indicated that nothing is ready to be.

how do last posts fit the discussion about svn build progresses? please stop going OT, the thread is already long enough...

you can discuss privately everything you want, but please avoid public drama, especially telenovelas-style wink

which was my point in the first place.

the discussion was about what PCFX would need, I gave some input based on the brief look I took at myself, then somebody made a needless comment and started dev bashing again.

I clarified my point, without proper running CPU code you can't even begin to implement any of the new PCFX features. I should give judge's PCE code a whirl anyawy, but Kale seemed to think it barely hits 80-100% on a top end i7 system so yeah, that does sound a little slow.

I can only guess that somebody doesn't like my idea of implementing something that's "good enough" to make progress in other areas, and instead wants it perfect from the start (the poster has previously show similar behavior with regards software lists criticizing the team for using existing dumps). In general, MAME / MESS don't work like that, progress is incremental, features improve together, over time. Trying to do something perfect from day 1 tends to just result in nothing ever getting done.

This thread is about progress, and I'd rather see some progress than no progress because people are too hung up on ideals.

PC-FX and Virtual Boy are interesting targets, and I imagine once work starts on the CPU core we'll start to see a fair amount of progress on the VB too :-)

I would have expected that cpu core to be at least working good enough to be usable for pcfx.

Haze always assumes the worst of CPU cores in case you hadn't noticed ;-)

That said, the V810 is a big question mark. Until there's more h/w emulation for PCFX or Virtual Boy we don't know how good or bad it is.

V810 is currently used only for an AI program on a bunch of Arcade Shougi games. And the TODO list is quite disturbing to me:

Code:
 TODO:
    - CY flag in few floating point opcodes
(all floating point opcodes are NOT tested!)
  - traps/interrupts/exceptions
  - bitstring opcodes
  - timing
  - missing opcodes : reti , trap
