It's official in that 64-bit builds are checked for valid compilation before every intermediate and major MAME release, and that tools are provided to compile a 64-bit build. Ergo, if you were to download the latest source code for MESS and compile it using the 64-bit MAME build tools, it would be as "official" a build as a 32-bit one you would download off the site.

Hmm, I just built MESS with this command:

make NOWERROR=1 MSVC_BUILD=1 DIRECT3D=9 DIRECTINPUT=8 PTR64=1 TARGET=mess

and I get the same behavior as with 32-bit, no games work with the DRC RSP

MESS SVN 9898 (64-Bit)

Each time I try and load a game with the latest N64 revisions I get as far as the N64 system info window before MESS exits without any warning.

I'm using Windows 7 64 Bit:

Code:

You compiled your own build or you use the emucr version ?
If you compiled your own build, you made a clean compile ?
Did you deleted the old .ini/.cfg files for this driver before ?

I can not more help because I use the working 32-bit build.

I used the emucr 64-bit version.

Bobz 32-bit build works fine
Emucr 32-bit build goes into a clicking loop with a black screen

I guess the next logical step would be to compile my own 64-bit version.

Not like the emucr compilations.
Sometimes the history/change(s) are missing and some more.
bobz 32-bit builds are very reliable.
