and 64bit works too, here... it's probably some weird problem in his config for whatever reason.

let's try like this: put the whole snes.zip content inside roms/snes/ and launchi from command line

mess snes -cart whatyouwant -rp roms/

the latter setting rompath to roms/ no matter what other ini files set.
post here the result

Thanks very much for testing. I need to do some experimenting with command line because it has been awhile. This is what I get so far

H:\MESS EMULATOR>mess64 snes -cart H:\MESS EMULATOR\roms\snes\chrono trigger (us
a).sfc
Error: unknown option: EMULATOR\roms\snes\chrono

[EDIT] I posted before etabeta78
I will try this thank you

I'm having similar problems with other systems.
Before opening a topic, better trying to erase all the ini files, then. wink

Anyway, despite I've got the updated software lists and the corresponding xml files in the hash directory, I'm not able to launch any software of any system from the "software" window (it says it doesn't find the roms) and have to pick the roms directly from the "picker" window (sometimes works, sometimes not). Any clue for that? Thanks.

As suspected, sweeping away all the .inis solved some problems.

Remains (at least) the one related to the use of the software lists.
