Currently I am running ZiNc on:

AMD Athlon XP2800+
2.08 GHZ 400MHZ FSB
1GB of DDR3200 RAM
8X AGP NVIDIA GeForce 4 Ti4200

All the games run very smooth, right at 58-60 FPS, but Tekken 3 runs between 45-50 FPS and seems sluggish. Do I need to upgrade my processor and/or motherboard to squeeze out that extra 10 to 15 FPS, or is their something else I can do (settings, RAM, etc.)? I hate to have to upgrade, but if even going up to an XP3200+ would do the trick, then it's worth it. Also, is ZiNc the benchmark for the computer specs. needed to run all emulators? I am setting up a CAB and want to make sure I can run emulators up to the Dreamcast games. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hey that's not a bad system for a CAB, and should be more than enough to run your Dreamcast games.

Now that's comedy gold smile

Tekken 3's game speed is wrong - this is independant of the framerate of the emulation.

ZiNc is most definitely not the benchmark you should use for new systems. It's known to run playably on systems as slow as 500 MHz when configured properly.

You can run the Tekken's on 500s?
How? I can't get 'em on my 900! LOL frown

I posted ages ago about the no sound option got all games running full speed on my old dell laptop
500 (457 mHz by memory in dxDiag)..all games except system 12.....tekkon 3 etc dont run without the sound so they ran like crap because had to enable sound

Tekkon 3 still is slow on this 2 gig system .... I dont think it runs at speed on any system below 3 gig?

Is there a setting I need to change to get it to run faster, or is that just the nature of the beast?

Yeah, I did a search and I do use the sound on the motherboard. That may be my excuse to go buy a new soundcard!!! Thanks for your help.

Your audio device should make no difference in speed in ZiNc except in extreme cases. Any on-board sound made in the last 5 years or so should be perfectly fine.
