notice the ' / ' is facing the wrong way for windoze, remember in Linux the slash is opposite direction from windows. Windoze Zinc can't find the roms directory because it's being confused by the slash.
All versions of DOS & Windows I've used work just fine with the normal slash. The only problem you get is with parsing command line options, some programs look for any slash character and assume thats another option.
In old dos versions you could specify a different character to use for parameters and all the commands would then work fine with either slash. That seems to have disappeared nowadays ( a good thing as you couldn't write a batch file that could cope with it ).
