Yeah, because there is none on the 8251. According to the technical manual RXRDY and TXRDY are connected to the 8088 interrupts.

Try pressing F3 at that stage ... that key is equivalent to "SetUp" on a real Rainbow and enters a special mode during normal operation. Here it shows

Isn't that the place where some basic settings like serial bit rate, video inversion etc. can be made? Don't have my DEC 100B right next to me to check, i only remember that mainly periperals were involved. EDIT: the procedure is described on pages 37 - 52 of the Technical Manual mentioned earlier in this thread ftp://ftp.update.uu.se/pub/rainbow/doc/rainbow-docs/pc100tm1.pdfTry pressing F3 at that stage ... that key is equivalent to "SetUp" on a real Rainbow and enters a special mode during normal operation. I've taken apart a few machines to send ICs to a guy who'll try to read as many of them as possible. I've used this opportunity to take a few more pictures, and in some cases re-read eproms. Here are some pictures of the NCR DMV's keyboard DMV Keyboard Here are pictures and the ROMs of the Siemens PC-D's keyboard and harddisk controller PC-D HD and keyboard I'll add the rest when I get the results from this reading frenzy :-) Robert

What are the markings on the keyboard CPU? It's not quite legible in the picture.

For the DMV, the big IC reads 006-00595 14 Motorola 8328
The Siemens PC-D has a Philips IC MAB 8035HL 6D8 DND 418 V1Y

It's quite sad: the diagnostic LEDs on my Rainbow show error 19 (0-64 K RAM failure on motherboard), and the VR201 monitor went up in black smoke - so i can't see anything. Keyclicks are audible, though.
As i'd like to contribute: do we need additional ROM dumps or motherboard photographs of the DEC-100B - or it's extension cards?
It's revision 2 or 3 (sorry, the label is barely readable) with a German language rom and optional hard disc.
Addon boards in my system: 1) RD51 extension board (= floppy controller board?), 2) Ram expansion (with 4 DIP switches) 3) MIO card (= winchester addon card?)
