Hi!

While converting my chds from v4 to v5 I noted that two chds are identical:

what's that bird (1992)(philips)(eu) sha1 f925f9b6ad061472e45015dd9b4f652b00935626

quel est donc cet oiseau - nature on cdi (1992)(philips)(fr) sha1 f925f9b6ad061472e45015dd9b4f652b00935626

Also, I couldn't convert frog feast. Is that a bug in chdman or a problem with the dump?

Define "couldn't convert frog feast". I'm pretty sure Anna Wu said it works fine.

Frog Feast has the old metadata due to being created with an ancient version of CHDMAN so doesn't convert properly (the sha1 changes) (it wasn't me who added that to the list..)

There are one or two cdtv and cd32 images with the same issue, but the majority of MESS CHDs were made with new enough versions to convert fine (unlike the CDs in MAME)

and yeah, I noticed that duplicate before, the files in the source material were the same, need to check what it actually is and remove the incorrect entry.

Sorry for the unclear message. I can convert it, but the sha1 and "chd size" change:

Ahh. Frog Feast should be recreated from source and the softlist updated appropriately then.

Not really much checking that needs to be done - "quel est donc cet oiseau" literally means "Who's this bird?" (according to Google Translate), or more loosely, "What's that bird?"

Since the game is listed as (EU) with the English title and (FR) for the French title, it would seem to imply that the French title and (FR) designation are the more specific subset of the more broad (EU) designation, therefore the (EU) one can be removed.

agreed on the whole line. going to update it in a couple of days.

in the meanwhile, can anyone upload somewhere an updated frogfeast chd (v5 created from the original bin)?
it is not a commercial game so I guess it is fine and it would save me some time to gather the sha1...

The thing is you'll want to do it with chdman built from very latest SVN. Some changes went in that fix an issue where different OSes built different files (the SHA1s matched and the files were all cross-compatible but the CHDs themselves weren't identical).
