I'm having a strange problem where Zinc pauses when ctrl, alt or space are pressed (i.e mame keys) when using D3D. Other keys such as coin inserts seem fine.

What's really weird is that pressing a key after advances the screen refresh one polygon. You can hold down a key and watch each frame being built up. Intresting to watch not much fun to play wink

Anyone got an idea what's going on?

you've probably set up the Pause key to ctrl or alt .. you can forward a frame press pause+shift(or your custom forward key), just remap the keys, and you'll be ok. smile

Thanks AbbasJin!

I'll check for something like this when I get home from work but I've a feeling this is something else as Zinc isn't just pausing at a frame it pausing after each polygon is drawn.

I've also tried a controller.znc file that was recompiled for mame and had the same problem with that.

Anyway I'll give a check over and post what I find later!

I believe this was a 'feature' of one of Pete's early gfx plugins. Try downloading the latest renderer plugin (from EmuHype or Pete's site).

those are the debug keys. AFAIK you can disable them with a setting in renderer.cfg

it might be:

EnableKeys = 1

change it to 0

Thanks for you help everyone.

It looks like the plugin is out of date. I did download the latest but in my rush didn't check it after I unzipped it. It appears it unzipped to a sub directory and didn't overright the old one. The old one was dated 2002.

In the words of Homer Simpson.. DOH!!!

I'll try running it when I get home tonight. Can't at the moment, I'm remote desktopping from work. I'm pretty sure that was it though!
