the problem is where do you get the CPU dump from, once you removed from the snesdsp bios? fullpath loading does not handle multi files (see e.g. scv carts with multiple roms which cannot be loaded from fullpath), it just loads the first file it finds. so even if you don't need the xml strictly speaking, you still need rpk to handle multifiles to get not only the cart rom, but also the DSP rom from the zip archive

Relate issues with snesnew in tests is useful in this time of development?

not much. a lot of carts have missing layers of gfx, but I'm still debugging where the problem exactly is. any other issue is probably related, so not worth reporting until I fix the main problem. I will advertise the request for testing as soon as it's needed on the other hand, reports of snes/snespal/snessfx/snesdsp regressions compared to 0.148/0.148u1 are always welcome

You still have to get the spc700 bios from snes.zip, so why not get the dsp bios there too in the case of loose carts?

because the spc700 was in the real console while the dsp was not? and then shall we get all 4 revisions + the seta ones + cx4?
I'm not particularly fond of the idea, but if that is the general consensus...

I see no harm in looking in a common resource folder for things, in this case it could be the snes parent, or if softlists are expanded to include a concept of 'cartridge profiles' for homebrew use, the name of the profile, or ideally, wherever the user chooses to put it ;-)

Yeah. I love softlists as much as anyone, but we should try to keep loose carts running as well as we can, unless it's completely gross to do so (in this case, I don't see how it is).

I think it was byuu himself to communicate this fact in this thread, a couple of years ago. Softwarelist < I been using those. =) you shall decide to move to the 21st century at some point...
